overall personality: Proud and arrogant, Katherine is a prime example of an elitist pureblood lady and she knows it. She possesses a strong will and an imperious manner along with a huge ego, great ambition and intelligence. There are no grey areas in Katherine's world, only black and white, 'them' and 'us'. She will not hesitate to flaunt her superiority. However, she is very loyal to those who earn her respect and can be very accomodating when she wants to be. She can even come across as extremely polite, well bred, polished, and charming but she is very good at hiding her true emotions and thoughts. To anyone outside of those who she values, Miss Flint can be quite abrasive, sarcastic and cruel.
Enjoying the sight of blood and the pain of others, she cunningly hides this darker, sadistic side of her nature (except from those who fully appreciate it) in public so that she may move freely in society. Although she is a woman of strong opinions and great emotion who can be very frightening when she's in a rage, Kat can be patient, biding her time for the right moment to move. After all, what Slytherin isn't the epitome of calm, cool and cunning? Those closest to her, however, can tell you that it is best to avoid her at all costs when she is in a particularly unpleasant mood because no one is exempt from her wrath. She knows when she's lost a battle but ensures that she does win the war. This can only be attributed to her persistence and generally stubborn nature.
With banned curses being even more banned now (after the second war), she still finds ways around this; which simply enforces how witty and devious she can be when necessary. Likewise, responsibility and fierce passion are a two other important traits that Katherine Flint possesses. She is very capable of taking on great responsibilities but only when she chooses to. When things are forced upon her, she turns into a rebellious, mischievous witch with a lack of care for anyone or anything that might get in her way. She is easily frustrated and prone to explode in someone's face if they irritate her enough. This is usually a VERY bad thing since she is rather prone to violence and shrill screaming. In contrast, the very same sort of passion also drives her overly flirtatious and suggestive mannerisms.

overall: I was, of course, born into a noteworthy and pureblood family on the thirteenth of September. Though I'm not sure from whence my namesake was chosen, I'm told that my middle name has been passed down through my father's family for centuries. More importantly, however, from what I've seen in my mother'shorridphoto albums, I was a very small baby but obviously had all of the best physical attributes (even at that age) worthy enough to automatically make me the pride and joy of both my parents. Even more significantly, they could tell straight away that I did, indeed, possess magical abilities and a potential to bring the Flint family great respect.
There are hardly any crucial points in my early childhood which I feel any need to express aside from the fact that I've always been a particularly enthusiastic and clever child who picked up on magic very quickly. Both mother and father strove to teach me everything they knew. Not that father's input was much help.It really was wonderful being their cherished only child. I mean, even by the age of two, I knew my worth and just what I could get out of them and others with a little bit of childish manipulation. Unfortunately, the male heir which my parents (just like all pureblood parents) had been hoping for did arrive rather shortly after I turned two. Even worse, they kept reproducing and ended up with a another child (a girl, if I'm right) not too long after that. As much as I loathed sharing the attention and affection, I do suppose some good came of it. It meant a couple of someones to taunt and pick on...and force my ideals upon.
It was no surprise at all the day I received my acceptance letter to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. No surprise and no disappointment, I assure you. Firstly, it meant I could get away from those troublesome brats. Secondly, it was one more chance to prove to my parents just how perfect I really am. Needless to say, however, I had something much more important to achieve before either of my parents would show the least bit of pride as far as Hogwarts. At very first, Mother nearly opted to take me directly to the school such that chances at this goal couldn't possibly be tainted by me being exposed to filthy blood but father insisted, and rightly so, that I was wise enough to know which sort to mingle with. Obviously he was right because I found myself sorted into Slytherin house just like every Flint before me. I'm just that good.
Even as a little first year, I knew more magic, especially of the darker nature, than most of my fellow students. After all, I did pay attention when mummy and daddy dearest were speaking...which is more than I can say in regards to some of the useless oafs they have teaching at Hogwarts. Honestly, it's just more evidence of how pathetic and useless all muggleborn scum really are. Seriously...muggle studies? Divination? Who in their right mind would take such silly and pointless subjects? Sadly, there isn't much any of us pureblood students can do about it. The best I can dofor nowis simply succeed in my academics, make important connections and wait until after I'm finished with my N.E.W.T exams this year. Then...and then only...can I get closer my ultimate goals.
woohoo! it's the end of the applicaion!

sample post: Taken from a Marauders Site I used to RP onLifting a hanger from its resting place on the rack against a side wall of the shop, Bellatrix examined the article much more closely. Her eyes moved over the slender silk slip done all in black. She didn't see how something so alluring should be worn under some puffy ball gown or showy dress. If it hung off her curves the way she assumed it would, Bella intended to test the school dress code as soon as she got back onto the grounds of Hogwarts. Her lips arched into a thin, malcontent smile as she slid her fingertips across the fabric and paused at the small bit of lace near the straps. As usual, her mind delved into places it sincerely shouldn't have been but it was always something she couldn't help. It wasn't as if anything would come if it anyway.
"Rodolphus Lestrange! Come here this instant!"
Suddenly stripped from her thoughts, Bellatrix's head shot up instantly and her dark eyes darted to the direction she'd heard the voice. Maybe she'd misheard? Bella didn't know if she wanted to be mistaken or if she'd actually hoped that she wasn't but there was no time to think about things like that. As she watched the figure of her fellow seventh year Slytherin emerge into the empty space just near the older woman, Bella smirked. She wasn't mistaken.
As if her certainty and instinct finally kicked in, the tall, dark haired girl swept across the shop toward Rodolphus. She hadn't bothered to put the skimpy piece of clothing away. Instead, she kept it dangling in her hand as she approached the boy. This would be the perfect time to tease and torment him in her own flirtatious little way. Stopping just beside him, she smirked and casually noted, "Fancy running across you here." As she spoke, she absentmindedly lifted the silky slip up and danced her fingers across the material.
